“Sources at Liverpool” – Journalist drops intriguing Anfield transfer claim

There are a number of people at Liverpool who are ‘quite happy’ if they don’t conduct any more transfer business this summer, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

Jurgen Klopp’s charges have already snapped up striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica in a club-record deal, while also adding full-back Calvin Ramsay and attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Aberdeen and Fulham, respectively.

Liverpool secured the signature of the highly-rated Nunez ahead of fierce rivals Manchester United in a transfer that could potentially rise to £85 million if he reaches certain milestones.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Ramsay joined the Anfield outfit for £6.5m following an outstanding breakout campaign with his boyhood club north of the border.

With the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur also being active in the market in its early stages, Klopp may feel his side needs further reinforcements, especially if there are further departures.

Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino have already exited the club in search of a fresh challenge, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool feel the need to bring in additional support.

The Reds have kept a fairly settled squad in recent years, with only Ibrahima Konate being added last summer, while Luis Diaz arrived in January.
