Who are Whindersson Nunes and My Mate Nate? Boxing records for KSI vs Tommy Fury fighters

The world is gearing up for a big boxing clash on Saturday night between YouTube superstar KSI and Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury. But there is plenty of action beforehand with those fighting in the undercard.

Whindersson Nunes is a Brazilian YouTube star, actor, comedian, musician and boxer. He has over 44 million subscribers on YouTube and was initially the most subscribed channel in Brazil before being overtaken by Canal KondZilla.

The 28-year-old won unanimously against Mario Silva on his amateur boxing debut in September 2019. He fought former WBO super featherweight champion Acelino Freitas a few years later but that exhibition clash ended in a draw.

Nunes is now entering his fourth professional fight on the back of a win, a draw and a loss. However, he is coming into this on the back of his first defeat. Kenny Ojuederie, more commonly known as King Kenny in the ring, beat Nunes unanimously in round 5 of their fight.

His opponent, Nathan Bartling, also known as My Mate Nate on YouTube, is hoping to get his first professional boxing victory against Nunes. The 30-year-old American has made a name for himself as a serial prankster on YouTube.

He resides in Thailand and some of his videos have been embroiled in controversy, such as the one from 2017 where he records a cat and a scorpion fighting off against each other. Such content seems surprising from a man who had been a Mormon missionary in his youth.
