Tommy Fury agrees next fight and says 'it would be an honour' to clash with opponent

Tommy Fury has said it would be an “honour” to fight former four-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr.

Fury has just come off the back of a victory over YouTube star KSI. Much like half-brother Tyson Fury’s fight against Francis Ngannou at the weekend, many punters thought there was very little to separate the two fighters but Tommy still came out on top on the scorecards.

However, Jones Jr made the request to fight Fury if his father, John, gets his wish and ends up in the ring against Mike Tyson. He suggested that they act as an undercard with the main fight involving Fury’s father.

Speaking to Fury for Boxing King Media, Jones Jr said: “I say you know what if Mike Tyson and John Fury fought then why not me and Tommy Fury fight as the co-main event. Me and Tommy Fury fight as the co main and then Tyson and John fight the main event, that would be out of this world.

“That would be crazy on the same night. Your father fights Mike and me and you do it as the co-main event.”

Fury, 24, has many years on Jones Jr but the American has bags of experience and is considered one of the best boxers of his time. The 54-year-old has 66 wins and 10 defeats across his professional career and Fury was excited at the prospect of a fight.

“Let’s do it,” Fury said. “Honestly we’ll arrange it, 100%. We’ll do it at 200lbs. It would be an honour, if we can get it set up we’ll get it done definitely.”
