VAR continues to dominate the headlines in Scotland for all the wrong reasons.

The technology has regularly been panned with major issues still creeping in at this stage of the season. A host of problems continue to be raised in the Scottish Premiership and again it came under the spotlight at the weekend during Rangers'clash with Kilmarnock. It all kicked off just minutes into the showdown as whistler David Dickinson was recommended to take a second look at a potential handball against Corrie Ndaba. The whistler – who originally played on – stuck to his guns and overruled the VAR room.

Kilmarnock's opening goal was then checked before Joe Wright has handed his marching orders and a penalty awarded against Derek McInnes' men after Dickinson looked at the monitor. James Tavernier missed from 12-yards. The general feeling was the right decisions were reached but it is the time taken to get to the outcome with games stopped for minutes on end and the overall fan experience that is being heavily affected.

The Ibrox clash at the weekend is just one of a vast number of issues this term and a livid Kris Boyd let rip post-match on Sky Sports as he asked what the full time VAR officials in Scotland where doing and why were they not on duty with just one game on Sunday.
