Whitstable Town boss Jamie Coyle and assistant manager Matt Longhurst pen two-year contract extensions at the club after double-winning season
A title-winning side’s management team have agreed a two-year contract extension.
Whitstable Town boss Jamie Coyle, alongside No.2 Matt Longhurst, have committed their respective futures to the club as they start to prepare for an Isthmian League return after a double-winning campaign.
The Oystermen were crowned Southern Counties East League Premier Division champions and added further silverware as they beat Punjab United 2-0 at last month’s Kent Senior Trophy final.
Coyle and Longhurst, who first linked up with the Belmont club in the summer of 2024, also clinched an historic FA Vase victory at Wembley at the culmination of the 2024/25 season.
“I’m really pleased to have agreed a new two-year contract with the club,” said Coyle.
“Whitstable Town is a special football club and, from the moment I came in, I have felt the ambition, passion and support from everyone involved.
“We have had some fantastic moments together - but we are not standing still. The challenge now is to keep improving, keep raising standards and make sure we continue to move the club forward.
“I want to thank the chairman [Steve Clayton], the board, the supporters, the players and all the staff for their backing.
“Matt and I are fully committed to the project here and we are excited for what lies ahead.”
Longhurst said: “I’m delighted to be continuing at Whitstable Town for another two years.
“It has been a brilliant journey so far and there is a real togetherness at the club that makes it a great place to work.
“The players have been outstanding in their attitude and commitment, and the support we receive from the fans, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes makes a huge difference. There is still a lot we want to achieve.
