Whiny Clement sums rotten Rangers up as Hotline pounces on broken bluenose who can't stomach Celtic winning machine

The dust is settling on the Scottish Cup Final and another season full of twists and turns. Celtic supporters were on fire on the Hotline after securing a double - but Rangers fans are sifting through the ashes of a campaign that promised so much before ending with their hopes of a treble up in smoke.

Henry McCoy emailed: “Philippe Clement has a big job in the break and the board have to stand up and be counted. We could have won the lot but the players weren't up to it. There isn't a player who can head a ball towards a goal. We had an embarrassing amount of corners this season and nobody to attack them.” Drew Ferguson, Oban, said: “Rangers lost the final because they lack the quality to finish teams off. Clement must have noted at the Celtic goal that when Matondo lost the ball he could not be bothered to chase back and Wright is limited and lost the ball before Celtic goal - simply not good enough.”

Jim McClean, Rothesay, said: “Clement can keep moaning about referees, VAR and injuries but he should go and take a good look at himself. His side still could not beat a poor Celtic team. His record is not any better than a certain Mr Beale.” Scott McAdam, Partick, said: “Once again sour grapes and excuses from Clement. Four times now he’s had a go at beating us and nothing. If they were better than us, as he says, they would be double winners. Results don’t lie so dry your eyes Phil, you’re running out of excuses. Be a man and accept your team are serial losers.”

Jack Armstrong, Bathgate, said: “It's good to see that Cyriel Dessers is now a fully-fledged Rangers man as he was first to pick up on his club’s motto ‘just wait til next season’. It’s good to see he knows what his club is all about.”
