Where can Team GB still win a medal at the Winter Olympics?

With just four days left of the Winter Olympics, Team GB are facing the very real possibility of leaving the Games empty-handed for the first time since Albertville in 1992.

Day 12 was another disappointing one for Team GB, with Dave Ryding – who won the Kitzbuhel World Cup slalom last month – only finishing 13th in the men’s slalom in Beijing on Wednesday.

That leaves Team GB with just a handful of athletes left to prevent the first medal-less Games in 30 years, though fortunately they have one seemingly sure-fire shot of getting on the podium…

A week after missing out on bronze in the mixed doubles curling, skipper Bruce Mouat will compete in another semi-final with the men’s rink looking in superb form.

They have already booked their place in the final four and if they win their final round robin match against Canada on Thursday – which would be their seventh victory in a row – they will top the standings and get crucial final-stone advantage in the knockouts.

That match takes play at 1.05am UK time with the semi-final to follow at 12.05pm, with a win guaranteeing Team GB their first medal in Beijing.

If they lose, they will have to compete in the bronze medal match on Friday morning, while the gold medal match takes place a day later on Saturday – the penultimate day of the Games.

While the men’s curlers progressed to the semi-final stages in relatively serene fashion, Eve Muirhead and her team must beat the Russian Olympic Committee on Thursday and hope other results go their way in order to make the knockouts.

If they do manage to make it through, the semi-final will take place midday on Friday with the bronze medal match on Saturday. If they make the final, viewers in the UK will need to wake up at 1.05am on
