Where are the original Waterloo Road cast now? From marriage breakdown to alcohol addiction

The new season of Waterloo Road airs on BBC One this Tuesday, September 10 and it promises plenty of action-packed drama with the arrival of a new headteacher and new students.

The series first aired back in 2006 and went on to air ten seasons before taking a nine-year break and coming back to our screens last year.

Original stars Angela Griffin and Adam Thomas returned for the reboot as Kim Campbell and Donte Charles respectively, bringing with them a touch of nostalgia as fans fondly remembered the earlier series.

Following his exit, Jason went on to star as character Declan Macey in Emmerdale and appeared in a whopping 661 episodes across four years from 2010 to 2014.

He's also made guest appearances in several other shows including Marple, Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders and most recently, Happy Valley alongside Sarah Lancashire.

Jason married his first wife Judith Hurley in 1991 but the pair got divorced in 1999. He tied the knot with Zerlina Hughes in 2002, with their marriage coming to and end in 2010.

She's now known as a Loose Women icon but for the unversed, Denise Welch was a successful actress thanks to her roles on Coronation Street and of course, Waterloo Road.

Denise played the Head of French, Steph Haydock from series one to series six before leaving in 2011 after playing a recurring role for her last series.

Since leaving, Denise had a stint on Hollyoaks as Trish Minniver from 2021 to 2022 and won Celebrity Big Brother back in 2012.
