When will the rain end in Greater Manchester as storms forecast for the UK

June’s warm weather is starting to feel like a lifetime ago as July’s weather has proved rather disappointing, with wind and rain being a regular occurrence in recent weeks. And for the first half of August the Met Office has forecast even more unsettled weather.

It doesn’t look like Greater Manchester will see any bright and sunny days anytime soon unfortunately. But if you are hoping for the wet weather to abate, then there is some hope on the horizon. According to the Met Office forecast for Greater Manchester for the week ahead, Friday is expected to be a dry day with no showers predicted - excellent if you want to organise a barbecue.

However, it will be cloudy with only a few sunny intervals expected early in the morning and later again at 7pm. Be sure to wear sun protection during the day, as the UV levels are still set to be moderate from 10am to 4pm.

Until then rain is forecast every day, although there should be some respite from the wet conditions. Light showers are forecast for Sunday morning with a 40per cent chance of rain changing to dry and cloudy by the afternoon, with a high of 19C expected at 2pm.

It’ll be a wet start to the week with more light showers expected on Monday morning and they’re forecast to continue throughout the day. Highs of 18C are prediced for Monday.

Things will turn a little brighter on Tuesday, with sunny intervals forecast alongside the light showers. It’s a similar situation for Wednesday and Thursday - so if you are heading out it’s worth bringing your brolly as well as a pair of sunglasses. Wednesday will be the warmest with a high of 20C forecast.
