When rain will hit Greater Manchester today - full borough-by-borough forecast
Greater Manchester has woken up to gloomy skies and rain this morning - but the picture will change throughout the day. Rain is expected to fall in periods throughout the morning, with downpours in some areas today (May 30).
Wigan could see the most heavy rain from around 9am, according to the Met Office forecast. But around the region, conditions will brighten up this afternoon, although some areas will see more rain than others.
Dry spells and sunny intervals will be broken up by the odd shower across Greater Manchester. The city is forecast for a pleasant evening, with sunny spells from 6pm before a clear night.

Temperatures are expected to climb to 18C in some areas, after a cool start at 11C or 12C this morning. There are no Met Office weather warnings currently in force for the UK today.
