When is the Super Bowl 2022? Date, venue, and UK start time for NFL showpiece

Super Bowl LVI is now a matter of weeks away as the NFL season moves towards its climax.

A year ago, Tom Brady led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Super Bowl glory in front of a home crowd as they toppled the Kansas City Chiefs, the quarter-back winning a record-breaking seventh ring.

The teams are set for the showpiece sports event as the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams are set to square off for the Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LVI.

Here’s what we know...

Super Bowl LVI is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

The game is scheduled to start at 3.30pm local time, which translates to an 11:30pm GMT start in the UK.

Super Bowl LVI will be played at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which has been home to both Los Angeles franchises - the Rams and the Chargers - since the start of the 2020 season.

For the second year in a row, the L.A. Rams are following in the footsteps of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who last season became the first team to play in a home Super Bowl.

There will be five artists performing at the halftime show for the first time: Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
