The 11 most overpaid defenders in the Premier League after Harry Maguire's latest shocker

Harry Maguire had yet another night to forget in a Manchester United shirt on Tuesday against Burnley.

The club captain – who is also the world’s most expensive defender – turned in another sub-par display and was at fault for the equaliser by Sean Dyche’s side.

Maguire was spun by Wout Weghorst and then failed in his attempt to stop Jay Rodriguez firing the ball past David de Gea.

It was yet another mistake to add to the England international’s catalogue from this season alone and Ralf Rangnick may soon have no option but to demote him to the bench for good.

Maguire’s string of ‘disasterclasses’ in 2021/22 is made all the worse by the fact he’s one of the highest-paid defenders in the Premier League.

Like with Varane, we’re aware that Stones is a high-quality player. However, he’s somehow pocketing far more than teammates Ruben Dias (£115,385-a-week) and Aymeric Laporte (£120,000-a-week), who are City‘s first-choice pairing. Make it make sense…

Mina is fairly decent on
