When is the Champions League quarter-final draw? Man City possible opponents predicted

Manchester City are aiming to reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the sixth successive season by overcoming RB Leipzig in their two-legged knockout tie.

City are tipped to do just that by a supercomputer ahead of their clash with Leipzig. Five goals were conceded by Pep Guardiola's side during their two meetings with the Bundesliga outfit last season, with two of those goals resulting in defeat for City over in Germany, though their place at the top of their group had already been assured by that point.

European heavyweights Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have already been eliminated from this year's competition, while at least two of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid also won't be making the quarter-finals. But who might? And when will the draw for the next round be made? The Manchester Evening Newshas all the details you need to know.

When is the quarter-final draw?

The draw is due to take place on Friday, March 17, three days after the second leg of City's tie against RB Leipzig. It is scheduled to start at noon CET (11am UK time, 6am ET), while the draw for the semi-final will also take place.

Who is already in the draw?

Well, while no one has officially already qualified, it seems safe to assume that the name of Portuguese side Benfica will be inside one of the balls to be drawn from the hat after they beat Club Brugge 2-0 in Belgium in their first-leg clash. FiveThirtyEight's data-driven predictions give Roger Schmidt's side more than a 99% chance of making the quarter-finals.

Bayern are also given a strong chance of progressing (86%) after beating PSG in the French capital
