When is Anthony Joshua v Jermaine Franklin? Fight date, start time plus TV channel

Anthony Joshua returns to the ring this week, with the former two-time heavyweight champion of the world taking on Jermaine Franklin at London's O2 Arena.

Joshua has lost three of his last five fights, with the previously undefeated Brit losing to Andy Ruiz in 2019 before successive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022. However, he is now back and is fighting in his home city in front of what is set to be a passionate crowd in a venue which he has not fought at at since 2016.

A world title shot will be up for grabs should he be able to string together a couple of wins, with a potential contest against Tyson Fury in the future never being fully ruled out in an unpredictable sport. Joshua retains a top ten heavyweight ranking and could enter the conversation for world titles if he enjoys a positive 2023.

Franklin, meanwhile, was an exciting unbeaten heavyweight before a loss to Dillian Whyte on his UK debut last November. However, he remains a big threat and one which Joshua will hope to negotiate before stepping back up to the top table of the heavyweight division.

There are also some great fights on the undercard, with Campbell Hatton fighting once again having recorded his tenth win last month before Fabio Wardley vs American Michael Polite-Coffie.

Here is how you can follow the action:

The fight takes place at London's O2 Arena on Saturday, April 1, with the main event expected to get underway at 10pm.

The action will be broadcast live on DAZN from 6pm. You can subscribe to the service for a flexible £19.99 per month, or £9.99 per month for 12 months. There is also a full year pass available for £99.99.
