When Erling Haaland Rangers decision will be made as Dortmund superstar fighting to be fit despite two major issues

Borussia Dortmund will reportedly leave it up to Erling Haaland to decide if he's ready to fly out to Scotland on Wednesday.

The Bundesliga giants trail Rangers 4-2 in their Europa League play-off tie, with the second leg at Ibrox on Thursday.

Haaland missed the first game as he continues to recover from an adductor injury, but the Norwegian star has been back in training this week.

And according to Bild it will be up to the player himself to decide whether he's ready to fly out with the rest of the Dortmund squad.

The German side are due to head to Scotland at 10am UK time so Haaland will have to make his declaration by then, with snappers sure to be on hand to determine whether he's in Marco Rose's travelling party.

BVB have been working hard to get their star man fit, having set winning the Europa League as a target for the second half of the season.

He trained with the reserve side on Monday, and on Tuesday was snapped doing an extra session with fellow attackers Steffen Tigges and Reinier Jesus.

But Bild reports that Haaland is still having trouble shooting and sprinting and certainly won't be at 100 per cent if he does face Rangers.

It's expected that he'll be on the bench at best, but Gio van Bronckhorst's side will hope he opts to remain in Germany.

The 21-year-old has 80 goals in 79 games for Dortmund, including 23 in just 20 appearances this season.
