When are the 2022/23 Gallagher Premiership fixtures released?
The fixtures for the Gallagher Premiership Rugby and Premiership Rugby Cup 2022-23 campaigns will be released on Tuesday morning, giving eager fans a chance to plan their viewing for the forthcoming season.
The fixtures for both competitions will be unveiled at the top of the iconic BT Tower at 11am on July 19, with them simultaneously going live online and on social media.
The first weekend of Premiership action will kick off on September 9 with the season concluding earlier in 2022/23 with the final on May 27 to provide national teams with more time to prepare for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France which kicks off in September.
In the build-up to the huge global international tournament, Premiership Rugby will be looking to build on a record breaking season just gone. Premiership Rugby shattered previous TV audience records in 2021/22.
The final was the most-watched Premiership Rugby match in the competition's 25-year history, more than doubling the previous high for a final. For the first time, the Final was broadcast on terrestrial television (ITV4) alongside the league’s long-term partner BT Sport. The game, won 15-12 by Leicester Tigers, was watched by an average audience on ITV4 of 597,000 (peaking at 831,000), and at the same time an average audience of 349,000, (peaking at 480,000) tuned into BT Sport.
The Final had an average audience of 946,000 (1.3 million peak) – 113% higher than the previous best for a Final in 2009
Across 2021-22 live average audiences on BT Sport were up 21%, which is also 12% higher than the previous best in 2018-19
