'What we deserved' - Kieran Lee's frank Bolton Wanderers dressing room view of Forest Green loss

Kieran Lee admits it was difficult to see Bolton Wanderers not taking the chances they created in the loss to Forest Green Rovers.

The Whites travelled to Gloucestershire again following Tuesday's night's defeat on the road to Cheltenham Town. They faced a Forest Green side sitting in the drop zone.

Connor Wickham scored what proved to be the winning goal in the first half. Despite chances for Dion Charles, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Kieran Saldier after the break, the Whites were unable to draw level and slipped to defeat.

Midfielder Lee gave his verdict on the loss and vowed the Whites must respond from two losses in their last two outings when they come up against Barnsley next weekend.

Lee said: “As you can probably tell, we are disappointed again. We needed to bounce back from Saturday and we haven’t put a performance again, got what we deserved.

“It is a strange one, and I don’t know what the reason is, they scored on the counter attack and then once they get the first goal it is even more difficult.

“When you are behind second half it is easier to throw caution to the wind but we still couldn’t get the goal, I’m disappointed we couldn’t.

“We didn’t perform anywhere near where we can play but we still had chances where we could have said ‘we played badly but came away with something.’ Not taking them is difficult.

“Before this week it had been a very good start but these two results have set us back a little bit and we just have to keep working now to turn it around a little bit. We go back home next week and know we have got to pick up a performance and start bringing results.
