What TV channel is Liverpool vs Manchester United on? Live stream and kick-off details

Manchester United will head to Anfield to take on arch rivals Liverpool Sunday with a cloud currently hanging over the club.

Erik ten Hag's season reached a new low on Tuesday night where they were unceremoniously dumped out of the Champions League after an underwhelming 1-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich. Their European heartache followed a rotten display at Old Trafford only days earlier when they were hammered 3-0 by Bournemouth.

The upcoming game at Liverpool will stoke some unpleasant memories for United with last season's humiliating 7-0 demolition at the hands of Jurgen Klopp's side still all too fresh in the mind. However, United can take hope in that they did manage to beat the Reds last season, albeit that was at Old Trafford.

Liverpool have been responsible for some of United's biggest defeats in recent seasons with the Reds beating United 7-0, 4-0, 5-0 and a 4-2 all in the last five meetings between the two. In fact you have to go back to January 2016 for the last time United beat Liverpool at Anfield where a Wayne Rooney goal gave them a 1-0 win.

Klopp's side are unbeaten in five games, with a draw away to Manchester City the only blemish on their recent record, but Sunday does represent a big opportunity for United. Although Ten Hag's team have an injury crisis and a consistency issue they just can't shake, if there's one victory that could kick-start their season it's three points at their biggest rivals.

United will travel to Merseyside to take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, December 17 and kick-off is set for 4.30pm.
