What Shoaib Malik Had Said About Divorce Rumours With Sania Mirza

Pakistan's former captain Shoaib Malik announced on Saturday that he has married popular actress Sana Javed. The latest development comes amid rumours of Malik's separation with Indian tennis great Sania Mirza. Malik and Mirza had tied the knot in Hyderabad, India in 2012, following the cricketer's divorce with Ayesha Siddiqui. They were also blessed with a baby boy, named Izhaan, in 2018. However, over the past couple of years, strong rumours had emerged, suggesting that the couple's marriage is in trouble.

Addressing the rumours, Malik had suggested last year that their marriage is still strong, addressing Sania as his 'wife'.

"Humey saath mey rehna ka time nahi mil raha (We don't get much time to live together). When they (Sania and Izhan) went to perform Umrah I had commitments here and when I took a break and went to Dubai to spend time with Izhan, she had commitments in IPL. Everybody needs to understand we belong to different countries and have our own commitments. Neither I released a statement nor did she," he said. Mirza, who retired from tennis last year, has always remain tight-lipped about his relationship with Malik.

On Saturday, Malik, in a joint Instagram post with Sana Javed, announced his marriage to the actress.

Shoaib and Sania had got married in Hyderabad in the Indian player's hometown Hyderabad in April 2010 and they use to live in Dubai.
