What Rodgers really 'thinks' about Clement as Celtic boss told how he MUST respond to recharged Rangers

Brendan Rodgers is thinking about how to leave Philippe Clement with egg on his face - and making sure the Belgian NEVER wins the league while he's in charge.

That's according to pundit John Hartson, who reckons Rodgers won't be standing for the Rangers boss' defiant quest to claim a Treble this season. Celtic have struggled domestically in recent weeks and back-to-back league defeats, for the first time since 2013, have blown the title race wide open. Gers, conversely, are in the ascendancy and having wrapped up the Viaplay Cup at the weekend, the focus is on reining Celtic in and claiming top spot in the league.

Speaking after downing Aberdeen at Hampden, Clement was confident that his first trophy in Glasgow wouldn't be his last and challenged his players to go add more to the cabinet before the end of the season. But Hartson reckons Rodgers won't be standing for it and will be hatching a plan to burst the bubble as we speak.

He said on Go Radio: "Clement has done a really good job since he’s coming in, there is no going away from that. He’s set out to the players what he needs from them, what he’s asking from them - he wants discipline, hard work and commitment. He’s certainly got that in the run of games they’ve been on.

"They’ve shown good spirit, they’ve come back from being behind late in games so they have that spirit and character within the team. But can he go on and push Celtic?

"Celtic need a little bit of help, they’ve had a couple of injuries. But take nothing away from the job Clement has done in a short space of time.
