What Mason Mount had engraved on his boots during Manchester United vs RC Lens
Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has gone viral on social media for his support of the England women's team.
Mount was spotted wearing boots with the words "Like a Lioness" written on them during Saturday's 3-1 pre-season friendly win over RC Lens - a nod to the 'Lionesses' nickname for the Women's national side. It was the 24-year-old's first appearance at Old Trafford as a Red, following his £55million move from Chelsea last month.
United fell behind early in front of their own support when Florian Sotoca scored an audacious lob on 23 minutes. Diogo Dalot lost possession near the halfway line, with the Lens forward spotting Andre Onana off his line.

Erik ten Hag's side produced an electric second-half performance, with goals from Marcus Rashford, Antony and Casemiro all scoring before the hour mark. Mount was unable to standout in footballing terms, missing a glorious chance when the game was 0-0 and failing to assert himself.
However the England international made headlines for all the right reasons after the message on his boot was spotted. Sharing a photo of one of the boots on his Instagram, Mount wrote: "Red Devils x Lionesses. Thank you for the pre-season support!"
Mount has been a vocal supporter of the Women's side, posting a picture of himself in an Ella Toone United shirt after he signed, alongside the caption: "Best of luck to the @lionesses today starting at the World Cup! Bring it home."
