What Manchester United fans did at half-time after Man City scored four first-half goals

A number of Manchester United fans left the Etihad Stadium at half-time on Sunday after Manchester City scored four first-half goals in the derby.

City took the lead against Erik ten Hag's men in the eighth minute as Phil Foden fired home from close range, before Erling Haaland doubled the home side's advantage in the 30th minute with a thumping header.

The Norwegian frontman grabbed his second of the Manchester derby just minutes later, sliding to convert Kevin De Bruyne's inviting cross. Haaland soon turned from goalscorer to provider as his pass provided Foden with a simple tap-in at the back post to ensure the Blues went into the half-time break with a clear advantage.

Shortly after Foden's second of the match hit the back of the net, the Sky Sports cameras showed several United fans exiting the Etihad having endured a difficult first period. There were a number of empty seats in the away end, and supporters continued to pile out of the ground before the half-time whistle had even been blown.

Former Reds defender Gary Neville - who was on commentary duty for Sky - suggested that the United fans had 'had enough' as he watched them leave the stadium, before going on to praise City for their devastating attacking ability.

"They’ve had enough. That last goal was an absolute pleasure to watch, absolutely brilliant. The first few minutes when [Diogo] Dalot got booked, Manchester United have never settled into this game," he said.

"Forcing it, anxious, no composure then pulled apart from an outstanding football team. Haaland was quiet, we hadn’t seen him then he’s taken the game away from Manchester United in three blistering moments."
