What Manchester United fans did after Harry Maguire substitution in Champions League exit
Manchester United fans' reaction when Harry Maguire was substituted against Atletico Madrid was damning.
United crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night, losing 1-0 against Atletico Madrid. United looked the better side in the first half but they conceded just before half-time, which was a goal that would prove to be the matchwinner.
Ralf Rangnick made multiple substitutions after the interval in an attempt to change the game, however, while Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Nemanja Matic all entered the pitch with more than 20 minutes to play, they couldn't provide United with the inspiration they needed for an equaliser. Edinson Cavani was called over next as Rangnick looked to roll the dice again.

Maguire has endured a difficult season and his credentials to captain the club have been brought into question. The 29-year-old hasn't looked the same player since the Euro 2020 final defeat with England and he looks set to benefit from a summer rest.
