What Man City striker Erling Haaland told Dominik Szoboszlai before Liverpool FC transfer

Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed he took advice from Erling Haaland before completing his move to Liverpool.

Hungarian attacking-midfielder Szoboszlai completed a £60million move to Anfield on Sunday, becoming the second major signing for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to reignite his title credentials. The Merseyside club also secured a £35m move for Alexis Mac Allister earlier in the window.

Szoboszlai has been close with Haaland ever since the pair played together at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. And despite their pending rivalry, they may end up continuing their relationship as neighbours.

“We’ve talked. So much so that Erling Haaland has also advised on finding real estate, and it could very well be that we become neighbours,” Szoboszlai told Hungarian-based outlet Nemzeti Sport.

“I learned from him that several players live halfway between Manchester and Liverpool in a quiet area where privacy can be preserved, and on Monday I will see what he was talking about, I am very curious.

“And of course, putting our friendship aside during the Liverpool-Manchester City matches, it will surely be a fantastic experience to play against each other.”

Liverpool's summer rebuild is already well underway as Klopp looks to improve on a disappointing campaign. Previously City's biggest threat, last season brought with it a fifth-placed finish and failure to qualify for the Champions League.

They will hope to join Arsenal in challenging Pep Guardiola's side once again, with the Blues having won another Premier League title last season, the first of their three major honours in a treble-winning campaign.
