What is the latest with Jordan James’ situation at Birmingham City as Wolves and Palace circle?

Lee Bowyer has trusted Jordan James with very regular first team opportunities this season and it is no surprise to see some interest from Premier League clubs.

The general consensus appears to be that the 17-year-old will depart with the club’s best wishes in the summer due to their financial situation.

Was it not for the sale of Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2020 the Blues would be in a very concerning predicament off the pitch, and even with the fee that they recouped for the England international, Lee Bowyer has not had a penny to spend in the transfer market since arriving at St Andrew’s in March 2021.

It is very rare for a 17-year-old to have racked up 17 appearances in the second tier and James has really grown into his role in central midfield.

Birmingham are in a comfortable position in the league table due to having a very positive beginning to the campaign, however they are not completely out of the mire yet and failing to pick up any wins from their final ten could see some relegation anxiety creep in at the closing exchanges.

James will likely continue to see regular game time in the remaining fixtures in order for the Blues to keep him in the shop window.

There is a chance that Bowyer has had a push from higher up in the club to accelerate James’ integration into the first team so that they can recoup a transfer fee sooner, there will be a lot of competition for his signature come the summer.
