'What I am hearing' - Insider makes 'no-brainer' transfer claim as 'great' Spurs news emerges

Tottenham Hotspur ‘insider’ John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhites Rose social media channels, has made a promising transfer claim involving right wing-back target Djed Spence.

After transfer chief Fabio Paratici failed to seal a deal for the Championship starlet in January, with multiple late bids lodged to no avail, it is reliably believed that Spurs will be back in the mix.

The Telegraph list Spence as one of many targets for the Premier League club, while Football Insider even claimed that the north Londoners have ‘opened preliminary talks’ to sign the 21-year-old.

They apparently view the Middlesbrough defender, who is currently excelling on loan at Nottingham Forest, as a ‘top target’, with the Spurs insider now sharing what he has heard.

According to Wenham, who was speaking to Football Insider, a deal for Spence is ‘99% going to happen’.

He added that the mooted £10m fee for his services is a ‘no-brainer’, describing it as ‘great’ news for Spurs that they’re moving to try and seal a move early.

Wenham stated: “I think Spence is 99% going to happen. That’s what I am hearing and the fee is actually really reasonable as well.

“It’s around £10million. That’s a no-brainer, thank you very much. He’s the one a lot of clubs have been linked with.

“So it sounds like we are getting a really good deal and getting it done early which is great to see.”

Described as a player who ‘massively fits the bill for Conte’, we believe that Spence’s numbers over 2021/22 certainly back this theory.
