What Getafe boss claims Jude Bellingham said to Mason Greenwood before Manchester United exit

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has claimed that Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham advised Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood to move to Spain.

After United confirmed that Greenwood would be unable to continue his career at Old Trafford, Getafe swooped for the 21-year-old on transfer deadline day earlier this month. He joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

The Reds, who will resume their Premier League campaign at home to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, had been actively looking to find Greenwood a move after announcing that he wouldn't be returning to the squad following an internal investigation into the allegations made against him in January last year.

The Bradford-born forward has not played since January 22, 2022, starting United's 1-0 home win over West Ham United.

Getafe, who are currently 14th in the La Liga table after winning just one of their opening four matches this season, have made no secret of their excitement about signing Greenwood, regularly posting on their social media channels about his arrival at the club.

Now, boss Bordalas has said that Madrid and England star Bellingham, who has made a brilliant start to life in Spain following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund, recommended La Liga to Greenwood to get his career back on track.

Speaking to Radio Marca, Bordalas said: "Greenwood is friends with Bellingham, and he advised him to come to the Spanish league.

"He is a fantastic player. You have to be patient, calm, he hasn't played in a year-and-a-half. We and his colleagues are helping him. He is integrating
