What are the Manchester council local election 2022 results?
Voters in Manchester have had their say in the 2022 local elections.
One seat was up for grabs in all 32 wards which are Ancoats and Beswick, Ardwick, Baguley, Brooklands, Burnage, Charlestown, Cheetham, Chorlton, Chorlton Park, Clayton and Openshaw, Crumpsall, Deansgate, Didsbury East, Didsbury West, Fallowfield, Gorton and Abbey Hey, Harpurhey, Higher Blackley, Hulme, Levenshulme, Longsight, Miles Platting and Newton Heath, Moss Side, Moston, Northenden, Old Moat, Piccadilly, Rusholme, Sharston, Whalley Range, Withington and Woodhouse Park.
Ahead of the election Labour made up 92 of the city's 96 councillors with two held by the Lib Dems and another by the Green Party while one seat was vacant.
Local elections took place for more than 200 local authorities across the UK, including all 33 London boroughs and 34 metropolitan boroughs in England. In Greater Manchester seats were available in the region's 10 councils.
Polls closed at 10pm on Thursday, May 5, with the Manchester count expected to take place on Friday.
