West Ham XI vs Lyon: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Europa League tie today
Lyon welcome West Ham to Groupama Stadium today for a huge Europa League tie - with the visitors missing star centre-back Kurt Zouma.
The Frenchman picked up an ankle injury during Sunday’s loss at Brentford and there are fears he could miss the rest of the season.
Moyes has, however, talked up a certain Issa Diop, and he comes in to start alongside Craig Dawson and replace Zouma in the starting lineup.
Elsewhere, it’s largely as expected for the Hammers. Pablo Fornals, Jarrod Bowen and Manuel Lanzini form the attacking line behind striker Michail Antonio.
Alphonse Areola, meanwhile, continues as West Ham’s starting goalkeeper in cup competition and his big-game experience could well be crucial.
Ben Johnson replaces the suspended Aaron Cresswell following his red card in the first-leg, while Vladimir Coufal comes in on the right.
With West Ham’s Premier League form tailing off of late, Thursday’s visit to Lyon is the season-defining game for Moyes. Win and he would have made history.
West Ham XI: Areola; Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Johnson; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Lanzini, Fornals; Antonio
Subs: Fabianski, Randolph, Alese, Masuaku, Fredericks, Noble, Kral, Chesters, Perkins, Yarmolenko, Benrahma, Vlasic
