West Ham 'very keen' on signing £80k-a-week star after Kehrer at London Stadium

West Ham are “very keen” on signing Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

David Moyes is hoping to bring in defensive reinforcements following some injury concerns in his squad and the Ivory Coast international is one player on his radar.

This comes after Bailly was generally overlooked for the majority of last season, making just seven appearances in all competitions, and started just three Premier League games.

Therefore, with the centre back seemingly up for sale, West Ham have approached the Red Devils about the £80,000 per-week ace’s services.

Crook confirmed West Ham’s interest but admitted that the London Stadium outfit could be in a fight for Bailly’s signature.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think West Ham are very keen on him and so are Fulham, so there would be a bit of competition.”

Moyes currently has four centre back options at his disposal, although given their current injury problems and previous issues to Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma, the Hammers boss could do with a couple more.

Summer signing Nayef Aguerd is already on the sidelines following an injury sustained in pre-season, which means he’s yet to make his competitive debut for West Ham, while Craig Dawson is suffering from fitness problems and is also yet to feature this season.

With Ogbonna also currently unavailable, Moyes was forced to start makeshift centre back Ben Johnson
