West Ham 'very interested' in signing £33.9m star at London Stadium

West Ham are “very, very interested” in signing Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The east London club are currently going all out for Chelsea forward Armando Broja, but Sheth says they are keen on Scamacca, too.

Sassuolo’s chief executive Giovanni Carnevali recently claimed that West Ham had made a bid of €40m (£33.9m) plus add-ons for Scamacca.

The Hammers face competition, though, with Carnevali revealing that Paris Saint-Germain have also tabled an offer for the 23-year-old.

He spent last season out on loan at Southampton, scoring nine goals in 38 appearances for the south coast club.

A Champions League team and one of the biggest clubs in the world, PSG are obviously an attractive destination.

However, can the French outfit give Scamacca regular game time? Probably not. This is a side, after all, possessing Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
