West Ham 'looking' at 'sensational' £40m star at London Stadium

West Ham have looked at Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 25-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium and has been linked with a move away from the Foxes this summer.

According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, Newcastle United could make a swoop for Tielemans this transfer window.

At one point, it had looked like the Belgian would end up at Arsenal before the start of the 2022/23 season, with The Telegraph reporting back in May that Mikel Arteta was pushing for the north London club to make a bid for the player.

However, reports now suggest that the Gunners’ interest in Tielemans has cooled.

It leaves the likes of Newcastle and West Ham with a great chance to land the midfielder, who cost his current club £40m when he arrived from AS Monaco permanently back in 2019.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Tielemans is a player who West Ham have considered.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “West Ham have also been looking at Tielemans. West Ham, Tottenham, Arsenal, they’ve been looking at a lot of similar players of this kind, and Tielemans is probably the most high profile one that’s left for all of them at the moment in terms of that midfield role.”

West Ham’s progress under David Moyes over the last couple of years has been phenomenal.
