West Ham face nightmare Premier League and Europa League fixture scenario after FA Cup draw

West Ham have been handed a tricky away trip to Southampton in the fifth round of the FA Cup with the fixture set to take place on the week commencing February 28.

The Hammers would have hoped for a home draw but after needing 91st and 121st minute goals to get past Kidderminster Harriers in extra time just being in the hat was a relief.

The fifth round dates are yet to be confirmed with TV coverage set to reschedule a number of the fixtures, but with the Hammers in Premier League action on February 27, the cup tie is likely to be played between Tuesday, March 1 and Thursday, March 3.

The cup tie comes in the middle of a hectic period for West Ham with a trip to Liverpool scheduled for Saturday, March 5 followed by a return to European action.

The Hammers will be on their travels the week after the Liverpool clash with the away leg of their last-16 tie taking place on Thursday, March, 10 and the home leg on Thursday, March 17.
