West Ham: David Moyes has 'long list of striker targets' at London Stadium

West Ham United have ‘got a long list of striker targets’ ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Hammers have long been linked to several forwards following the departure of Sebastien Haller but a new goalscorer is yet to arrive at the London Stadium.

Haller joined Dutch giants Ajax in a £20.25 million deal in January 2021, just 18 months after they splashed out £45m to secure his services from Eintracht Frankfurt.

That has left Michail Antonio as the only recognised number nine in David Moyes’ first-team squad ever since, although that hasn’t hindered their impressive rise on the pitch.

Since the beginning of 2020/21, the Jamaica international has registered 20 goals and 15 assists in 68 appearances across all competitions, firing West Ham to a sixth-place finish last term and the Europa League semi-finals this time around.

However, at 32, Antonio only has a limited time left at his current level, and Moyes has already shown his eagerness to add some cover and competition in attack.

The capital club reportedly had a club-record £60m bid turned down by Benfica for Darwin Nunez in January with the player eager to move to a side competing in the Champions League.
