Arsenal 'offered chance' to bring £50m striker to the Emirates

Arsenal have been ‘offered the chance to sign’ Everton attacker Richarlison as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his options at the Emirates Stadium, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Gunners currently find themselves in the Premier League’s top four and, ahead of a potential Champions League campaign, it appears Arteta has already started to pinpoint targets before the summer window opens for business.

According to 90min, Arsenal have added Richarlison to a shortlist of targets and are known to be long-term admirers.

However, the Gunners are not the only side looking to swoop for the 34-cap Brazil international as the report suggests Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also mulling over whether to make a summer move.

It is understood that Richarlison’s representatives have told Everton that he is eager to leave Goodison Park at the end of the season as he wants to give himself the best possible chance of making his country’s squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Arsenal chief Arteta is certain to be looking at potential reinforcements at the top of the pitch as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are set to see their respective contracts expire at the end of the campaign, currently leaving the Gunners without an option up front heading into next season.

Richarlison, who cost Everton £50million when he joined from Watford close to four years ago, still has more than two years remaining on his £110,000-per-week contract on Merseyside.
