West Ham ‘closely following’ Ligue 1 star’s progress, but must beat Italian competition
West Ham are ‘closely following’ an emerging Ligue 1 star but face competition from Serie A for his services, according to a report.
The Irons could do with reinforcements this summer after failing to bring anyone in during the winter window. They pursued the likes of Darwin Nunez and Kalvin Phillips but couldn’t strike any deals.
David Moyes has done an exceptional job at the London Stadium and is deserving of some funds to improve his squad.
One area he may look to improve is central defence. Injuries to Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma have held West Ham back slightly this campaign.
And with Craig Dawson the wrong side of 30, Moyes could do with a new centre-back arriving in east London.
According to Sport Witness, who cite French outlet RMC Sport, one player they are monitoring is Strasbourg’s Gerzino Nyamsi.
The Frenchman has featured in every Ligue 1 match since joining Strasbourg from Rennes for just £1.35million in August.
He has put in some solid performances, helping the club to pull off impressive wins over Saint-Etienne, Nice and Montpellier.
