West Ham: 46-goal star ‘not wanted in dressing room’ by Moyes at London Stadium

West Ham United may have moved on from Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis because of the player’s character, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

David Moyes has overseen a busy summer of business at the London Stadium in the transfer window and there remains plenty of time to strengthen further ahead of the September 1 deadline.

This summer has seen four new faces arrive including Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet and Flynn Downes while Alphonse Areola has also penned a permanent deal. In total, just over £100 million has been spent so far.

With European football once again on the agenda in east London, the Hammers will have no doubt been eager to bolster their strength in depth and that is what they have done.

The latest player to make the move was Cornet, who has signed from relegated Burnley. Everton and Newcastle were also interested in the player but West Ham have won the race for his services.

While Scamacca may have already made the move to London, there is still a chance the club could add another striker.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja has previously been linked but so has Watford ace Dennis. Earlier in the window, they were reported to be battling Nottingham Forest for his signature but the seven-cap Nigeria international remains at Vicarage Road.

What has Crook said on a potential move for Dennis?

The talkSPORT reporter understands that, while the 24-year-old may have previously been targeted, that the Hammers have likely moved on.

Crook told GIVEMESPORT: “Now they’ve got Scamacca, I wonder if they’ve done some background checks on him because, from what I’m told, maybe he’s not necessarily the type of character that David Moyes wants to bring into the dressing room.”
