West Brom transfer message sent as players 'still believe'

Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton has said it would be a "no-brainer" to sign West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer.

The 25-year-old spent time on loan at Lincoln last season, being an ever-present as he played all 46 games across the League One season. He earned rave reviews at Lincoln but earned a temporary move to the Championship with Luton Town this term.

While Appleton is keen, he hinted West Brom may not be so keen so sanction a move. The Baggies hierarchy may want to sell to a club above Lincoln's standing, though Palmer only made his Albion debut back in August.

West Brom midfielder Alex Mowatt insists his team "have to keep going" in order to turn an upturn in performances into more positive results.

The Baggies are unbeaten in their last four, having won two and drawn two. Mowatt says the squad still "believe" as they find themselves seven points off the play-offs with eight to play. Speaking after Saturday's 2-2 draw against Bristol City, Mowatt had some encouraging words. He also gave an honest assessment of his side's performance.

“We still believe," he said. "We need to believe in ourselves in every game. We’ve started performing a lot better. There’s been a change in how we play. We simply have to keep going.”
