West Brom set to sign former Liverpool striker as Valerien Ismael finds Daryl Dike replacement
West Brom have reportedly sourced a replacement for injured striker Daryl Dike.
The USMNT striker has been ruled out for eight weeks with a hamstring injury which comes as a huge blow for the Baggies who only signed the American this month.
He was forced off on his debut against Peterborough United and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
In his absence, West Brom have reacted quickly in the market to get cover and The Telegraph claim former Premier League striker Andy Carroll is set to join the club.
It is reported that Carroll will take a medical this morning ahead of penning a contract at the Hawthorns after becoming a free agent following his contract expiring at Reading last year.
The 33-year-old striker made eight appearances for the Royals earlier in the season and scored two goals for Veljko Paunovic's side.
West Brom are in in desperate need of goals after failing to score in four of their last six Championship matches.
Last time out against Preston, Valerien Ismael's side lost 2-0 at the Hawthorns to condemn West Brom to their seventh Championship defeat this season.
