West Brom predicted XI vs Luton as Steve Bruce drops telling hint

West Brom head to Luton Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off) in desperate need of a pick-me-up after a dreadful run of form that has left them outside the Championship play-off places.

Albion haven’t scored in four games, and they’ve managed just a single win in 10 games, but new boss Steve Bruce has indicated that he plans to change things up after the goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers on Monday.

Luton, who are flying themselves this season and boast a largely excellent record at Kenilworth Road, are right in the play-off mix.

While Bruce isn’t getting ahead of himself, he recognises that this week - when Albion also travel to promotion rivals Middlesbrough - could be a defining one in the context of Albion’s season and that the Baggies can’t afford to fall much further behind.

How does he go about changing things?

Albion will have Kyle Bartley back. The centre half has had chicken pox but he has recovered after a period of isolation and is in contention to return to the starting XI on Saturday, as is fellow centre half Dara O’Shea who has been involved for the last two games.

Jake Livermore serves the second of his four-match ban, while Albion are still without winger Matt Phillips, defender Kean Bryan and strikers Daryl Dike and Kenneth Zohore.

Interestingly, Bruce hinted at utilising Semi Ajayi in a role he’s familiar with, but which he hasn’t been seen for some time - that position being in central midfield.

Prior to arriving at Albion, Ajayi operated in the middle for Rotherham United and boss Paul Warne, from where he contributed goals and earned his move to The Hawthorns before reverting back to centre half under Slaven Bilic.
