West Brom make transfer decision as midfielder's contract enters final year

West Bromwich Albion are sending Quevin Castro on loan to Burton Albion for the coming season.

The 20-year-old joined the Baggies in 2021 after a successful trial period. He signed a two-year contract, which expires next summer.

Castro made his senior debut for the first team last August in the 6-0 defeat to Arsenal in the League Cup. He also made two appearances off the bench in the Championship.

The midfielder also played a key role in the U23's success in the Premier League Cup, as they beat Wolves in a thrilling final at the Hawthorns. He scored the opening goal in the 2-2 before the home side won a penalty shootout.

This move could be crucial for the young player's future as he bids to prove that he can cut it in senior men's football. Playing for the Brewers in League One next season will give the club the opportunity to assess his progress and determine the next step of his career.
