Welling United sign Ryan Kingsford from Isthmian Premier champions Folkestone along with Potters Bar duo Ryan Blackman and Demaray Anyadike, plus Sam Smith pens permanent deal

Welling United have signed Isthmian Premier title winner Ryan Kingsford from Folkestone.

The moves see Kingsford reunited with Wings boss Ryan Maxwell, having starred under him at Sittingbourne as the Brickies reached the FA Trophy quarter-finals and finished runners-up in Isthmian South East.

Folkestone announced on Monday that Kingsford, who’s comfortable in several attacking roles, would be leaving and Maxwell can’t wait to work with him again.

“Ryan’s an absolute class act,” said Maxwell. “He was instrumental in our success at Sittingbourne. His numbers were great, he was a standout performer.

“He could have gone to a full-time Step 2 club last summer but he chose to go to Ramsgate before joining Folkestone.

“He has a league winners’ medal in his cabinet as well but the best of Ryan is yet to come in the role I’m allocating for him, one he did extremely well in for me before.

“He’s got a great attitude and character and although he’s an attractive player, technically very gifted, he’s also extremely hardworking. He’s non-stop.

“He’s got the calibre, he’s off the back of winning the league and I’ve worked with him before, so I know I’m going to get a fantastic version of Ryan Kingsford.”

Maxwell has also completed deals for Potters Bar duo Ryan Blackman and Demaray Anyadike.

They impressed in a struggling side last season and have the quality to flourish at Park View Road.

Midfielder Blackman had a brief spell with Welling in the 20/21 season and is a player Maxwell knows well.

“I’m delighted to get Ryan in,” said the manager.

“He’s one I’ve wanted to work with for a number of years. I’ve been an admirer of his for quite a while.

“He actually messaged me to see if I’d be interested and my answer was ‘100 per cent,
