Welcome to Wrexham season 2 - what we know so far, streaming details and likely release date

Fans of the documentary series Welcome to Wrexham will be eagerly anticipating the second installment.

The first series chartered the story of National League side Wrexham after they were taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. While it showcased the Red Dragons' 2021/22 season on the pitch, culminating in a thrilling 5-4 loss to Grimsby Town in the play off semi-finals, the programme also took a behind the scenes look at what was happening off the pitch.

After the season finale aired in October 2022, McElhenney announced a second series would be coming out in 2023. He tweeted: "Oops. Sorry. Tonight is the last episode of season 1 of Welcome to Wrexham. Season 2 will return next year.

With Wrexham's 2022/23 campaign coming towards an end, supporters will be hopeful of the next season becoming available soon. MEN Sport has taken a look at everything you need to know about the next series.

It is unclear at this stage exactly when the next series will be available to watch. Last year, the National League season ended in May and Welcome to Wrexham was released the following August. This year, the season ends slightly earlier in April with the play offs concluding in May. Therefore, it is likely that the new series will air around August 2023.
