'We were very angry' - Alejandro Garnacho reveals Man United dressing room anger at half-time

Winger Alejandro Garnacho has said Manchester United used their first-half anger to spark a second-half comeback in Saturday's 2-1 win over Brentford at Old Trafford.

United fell behind right at the end of first-half stoppage time in controversial fashion when Ethan Pinnock headed home a Brentford corner. United had just 10 men on the field after Matthijs de Ligt had been ordered to leave the pitch and receive further treatment for an earlier head injury.

United, who were furious with the officials at half-time, got themselves back on level terms just two minutes after the restart, drawing level through a fantastic finish from Garnacho. The winger connected with a brilliant cross from Marcus Rashford and fired home.

United completed the turnaround just past the hour mark when Rasmus Hojlund notched his first Premier League goal of the season, dinking an excellent finish over Bees goalkeeper Mark Flekken. In Garnacho's opinion, it was a deserved victory given United's performance.

He told MUTV: "We are very happy, but I also think that we played a good performance in the first half.

"We were 1-0 down but I think we played, in general, a very good game. After the first half we were very angry because we played with 10 men for a little bit of the time, but with a good mentality we came back in the game.

"I missed two big chances in the first half but I came to the second one with the same mentality: try to score and win the game. Finally I could do it. Also, Rasmus, I am happy for him."
