We simulated Everton's season after Frank Lampard appointment and Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek signings

Everton will be hoping that new boss Frank Lampard, and their five new January signings, can help push the Toffees away from the relegation zone in the second half of the season.

After a torrid first half of the season under Rafa Benitez, Everton sit 16th in the Premier League table after 20 games and just four points away from the relegation zone.

But after two defensive and three midfield reinforcements added to the Toffees' ranks in the January transfer window, including Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli on deadline day, the blue half of Merseyside will be hopeful they can push up the table.

Along with the midfield duo of Alli and van de Beek, Anwar El Ghazi arrived on loan from Aston Villa, whilst defensive duo Nathan Patterson and Vitaly Mykolenko arrived early in the new year.

So, what could happen in the remainder of the 2021/22 Premier League season for Lampard's side?

Can the Toffees push away from the relegation zone, or could they potentially be relegated from the top division for the first time in their history?

Let’s see what happened!

To simulate the remainder of the season, we used the Football Manager 2022 editor to update all teams, managers and playing squads of all Premier League teams. We then simulated from the end of the January transfer window in-game until the end of the 2021/22 season.

We used the Football Manager 2022 editor to replicate the current Premier League table as it is in real life, with the correct results for every fixture so far in the 2021/22 season. All in-game statistics shown from our simulated season are taken between February 1st, 2021 to May 31st, 2021.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin had the best few months under Lampard, with the striker hitting his stride again and bagging 16 goals
