Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign midfielder Fabio Vieira, FC Porto has confirmed in a statement.

The Liga NOS side confirmed that the Gunners have agreed to sign the 22-year-old for a fee of £34 million, a figure which includes a potential £5 million in add-ons. The young creative midfielder scored six goals and registered 14 assists in 27 appearances for FC Porto last season, of which just 15 of those were starts.

Porto released a statement on Friday, which read: “Deal complete for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on the achievement of sports objectives”.
