'We should demand more' - Radek Vitek verdict on Manchester United defeat after stunning display

Radek Vitek said he was 'disappointed' after Manchester United's loss against Rosenberg, despite delivering an excellent individual performance in between the sticks.

Andre Onana wasn't included in the travelling squad for the opening pre-season game of the summer, which meant Vitek played all 90 minutes against Rosenborg in Norway.

Vitek spent last term on loan with Accrington Stanley and that spell was considered a huge success due to the experience he gained and the volume of matches he played.

The young goalkeeper, who stands at 6ft 6ins, grabbed his opportunity against Rosenborg with both hands and made multiple great saves to deny the Norwegians a breakthrough.

Vitek looked set to record a clean sheet, but the hosts scored with practically the last kick of the game to claim a 1-0 victory, finding the net with an unstoppable effort.

The 20-year-old reflected on his performance with MUTV after the match and said: "I feel disappointed because we should aim higher, always aim for the win because as the manager [Erik ten Hag] said, we don't play friendlies. That's in our DNA and we should demand more.

"Obviously we're building up now, it's the first week of our pre-season and we're still waiting for some players to return from internationals. I'm happy with some saves, but in the end, all that matters is the win.

"It's really good for youngsters to get the opportunity, but when you step on the field you have to show yourself because it's a big chance in front of a lot of people. You have to demand the best from yourself."
