'We share information': Pitso explains new Royal AM consultancy role

Former Al Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has explained his new role at Royal AM.

In July, Mosimane and his technical team announced the Pitso Mosimane Masterclass series launch; the first beneficiaries were to be Royal AM.

Despite the announcement, little was known about what this all entailed. In an interview with journalists, Mosimane explained what was going on between him and Royal AM.

"We share information. We've been in the Champions League for the last 12 years. [We share] what have we done and what we've seen," Mosimane told journalists.

"The success we had and the failures we had. Some of these failures and successes are beyond your control. But some are in your control.

"[Things like] what happened? How we've managed to play three or four games in seven days, which is what Royal AM is dealing with now."

So far, during the current DStv Premiership campaign, Royal AM has had three wins, two losses and a draw in their opening six games in what has been a very up-and-down start to the season.

Royal AM are schedule to play in the CAF Confederations Cup and in early October are due to play a soon-to-be revealed opponent in preliminary round two.

"I've been listening to the coach [Dan Malesela] after interviews, in the last one [loss to Stellenbosch] he said: 'We tried to revive the team and change the team because we've played two games in the last four days,' and I was smiling and thought: 'Welcome to the real world.' Now he's got CAF, now he has to travel," Mosimane added.

"I know what happened to SuperSport United when they went to the final of the Confed Cup? I think you know where they finished [in the league]. What happened to Bidvest Wits when they went to the Champions League?
