‘We really didn’t like them!’ – Wolves captain Conor Coady on Arsenal’s celebrations

Wolves captain Conor Coady has joined teammate Ruben Neves in highlighting Arsenal’s rather over zealous celebrations after the Gunners won at Molineux on Thursday.

The north Londoners moved up to fifth in the Premier League table – just one point off fourth with two games in hand – after a solitary first-half goal from defender Gabriel secured a 1-0 win and three massive points.

Arsenal had been forced to play the final stages of the match with 10 men after Gabriel Martinelli was sent off for two yellow card offences in one phase of play, and the rest of the team were overjoyed to survive Wolves’ late onslaught.

Midfielder Neves – who has actually been linked with a move to the Emirates – was not such a fan of the reaction he saw from Arsenal’s players afterwards, aiming a little dig at the victors.

‘We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are,’ he told the BBC. ‘I didn’t see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years – it was like they won the league.’

Now skipper Coady has also commented on Arsenal’s celebrations and, like his teammate, says he did not enjoy seeing it – and he is keen to get revenge when they meet again in north London later this month.

‘We’ve seen them, we heard them. We’ve obviously seen the whole thing, I know Ruben has obviously spoken out after it,’ Coady told BBC Radio 5 Live.
