'We're told' - Journalist hints at huge early Spurs boost ahead of Leeds clash
Journalist Paul Brown believes that there is a chance Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp could return to action on Saturday when Spurs return to Premier League action against Leeds United.
Skipp’s return has taken longer than expected after he sustained a groin injury in January, which has seen him miss Spurs’ last four fixtures.
Speaking in an interview with GiveMeSport, Brown has confirmed that Skipp could make a return for Spurs on Saturday at Elland Road against Leeds United.
“I think his injury is taking longer than people thought, definitely. But we’re told there’s a chance he could be back this weekend,” Brown said.
Skipp has played a key role in the Spurs side this season and has featured 18 times in the Premier League after impressing on loan last campaign for Norwich City.
TIF Thoughts on Skipp’s return to action for Spurs…
With Spurs losing three of the four games since Skipp’s injury, he has been a big miss for Spurs, but they didn’t seem to miss him when Rodrigo Bentancur started in his position against Manchester City and performed well to help his side win 3-2.
After Bentancur impressed for Spurs at the weekend, it is undecided whether Skipp will even return to the side if he is fit come Saturday.
Bentancur also started against Burnley last night, but was subbed at half time due to injury, so it is unclear whether the Uruguayan will even be fit enough for the squad against Leeds, meaning Skipp may have to make a return even if not fully fit.
Skipp is a player who works tirelessly for his side and will always give 100%, meaning it may be a risk to involve the Englishman if he is still slightly nursing a groin problem.
